2e Creative Grows Interactive Department, More Facial HairMultimedia Guru Shawn Donoho drops mad skills on local creative firmST. LOUIS :: JUNE 2009 :: Sporting a thick goatee, personable air and an unbelievably diverse career background, multimedia guru Shawn Donoho this month boarded the 2e Creative train as the marketing communications agency’s newest Interactive Designer.
The decision to hire Donoho comes in light of the bursting e-britches of 2e’s interactive department, which has undergone significant expansion over the last year.
“Our entire interactive team was relieved, to say the least, when I told them we were bringing on some help,” 2e Creative Principal Joe Toohey said. “Our interactive work has always rocked, which is probably why we’ve been getting a lot more of it. And that’s not a bad thing.”
Donoho joins 2e with 10 years of web design and production experience?a by-product of his personal passion for audio/video spell casting. Since graduating from the Broadcast Center in 1993, Donoho has instructed audio/video classes and worked a few gigs in the radio biz.
“It wasn’t until one of my previous employers made the crossover into cyberspace, that I decided to teach myself the ins and outs of web design,” says Donoho. “2e struck me as the perfect place to polish that side of my mind.”
2e Interactive Creative Director Jay Gaines had worked with the well-bearded Donoho prior to his employment with 2e.
“Shawn was one of my senior producers, so I was familiar with his skill set and knew there was a perfect spot for him at 2e,” Gaines said. “Plus, he had awesome Edward Scissorhands-esque hair. You just don’t find that caliber of grooming in interactive designers these days.”
